The Power of Theater...

One of the oldest forms of entertainment in the world is the theater. Archeological evidence has proven that the Greeks and Romans were holding theater productions in amphitheaters as early as 5 BC. Greek playwrights such as Sophocles and Aeschylus are known to be the first writers to produce what has been seen as the world’s first modern musicals. These ancient musicals featured music, songs, humor and entertainment that was popular for the day.

The Power of the Theater Today

In today’s world even though millions of people around the world love going to the movies, the theater is just as popular as ever. New stage productions like: The Book of Mormon Musical have reignited interest in the theater because, writers like Trey Parker and Matt Stone write for the non-theatergoer and have brought more people to the theater who would never be interested in attending in the first place.

The Theaters Future

Many technology experts have questioned if the theater will continue to be relevant in the future as technology advances and the answer is yes. Thanks to the theater, any writer has the ability to more intimately communicate their thoughts and ideas with the audience and they can have confidence that the message that they are trying to convey won’t get lost in technology, computer graphics or action sequences.
