Each year the students produce and perform a 35-minute musical incorporating social studies and the musical elements. Using their Arizona history text as a guide, the children learn about Native Americans, Spanish culture, pioneers and mining. While learning history and preparing for the musical, students helped create dances and learned some sign language that coincided with musical numbers, musical elements and instruments.
