From the 1999 CALI Conference for Law School Computing At the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, work has been going on to develop an integrated information system in which all departments (from admissions to development and alumni relations) use the same or similar technologies, interfaces, databases, etc. and where data and information flows from one system to another smoothly and efficiently. Cornell Law School has undergone significant changes in the last three years. Among the changes is an effort to revamp their internal databases to benefit from the advent of recent technologies (Windows-based databases, Web interfaces). This presentation will focus on these efforts in both law schools . We will discuss our current systems, planning, design and architecture of the integrated systems, tools and technologies we use in the design and development of the new systems, integrating third party vendor solutions, current status, facing the future and support issues. Demonstrations will include such things as using the browser to provide access to the databases using ColdFusion. The target audience is IT administrators, DBAs and support staff.
