Career technology education prepares students to enter the workforce immediately after graduation or to pursue further education at a community college or university. High school juniors and seniors learn the skills and knowledge necessary to work in a criminal justice-related field. Topics include search and seizure, corrections, courts, community policing, and use of appropriate force. Students work closely with local police department Explorer programs and participate in the SkillsUSA leadership competitions. The program also provides an introduction to the world of crime scene investigation and students participate in an annual forensics competition. This is a slide show that was shown at the SEMI Arizona golf tournament in 2006 to raise awareness of the career awareness program for high school students called SEMI High Tech U. High Tech U is a three-day high tech career awareness program that inspires students to study more math and science and realize that a career in a high tech industry could be for them.
