Hip Hop Mayhem (PHOENIX) -- Phoenix Police are investigating the arrest of a 15-year-old girl who was seen on tape being slammed to the ground by the arresting officer. Officer Patrick Larrison has been placed on administrative leave while police carry out both an internal and criminal investigation into the arrest. A YouTube video captured the Jan. 25 arrest on camera, but police didn't become aware of the video until this Tuesday. Someone in the police department saw the video and reported it. "That type of video is very concerning to us," said Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump at a press conference Thursday. "What you see in the video is of great concern to the Phoenix Police Department about how a member of this community was treated." The 15-year-old and her family have not been identified. BATON ROUGE- Former teachers at Kenilworth Science and Technology Charter School in Baton Rouge are making strong allegations about what happened inside the school during their time there. They claim unfair treatment toward teachers and an unsafe environment for students. That's in addition to two lawsuits News 2 uncovered against the organization that runs the school, Pelican Educational Foundation. The state is investigating Kenilworth as part of looking into the parent company with ties to the Turkish culture. Wednesday, Pelican lost control of another school it operated, Abramson Charter in New Orleans. The state cites allegations of sexual misconduct among students and not properly reporting it. The two former teachers, who spoke to News 2 anonymously for fear of retaliation, say inside the walls of Kenilworth is a troubling environment, brought to light in two lawsuits, one about teacher discrimination, the other about student mistreatment. One teacher said, "I watched them be discriminated against and I experienced the same sorts of discrimination based on race, national origin, religion, ethnicity. It was an atmosphere where there was a double standard." The teachers say as women, they were given more duties than male staff, and as Americans, given fewer breaks for personal time, while the Turkish-Muslim staff members were given ample opportunities for prayer time, away from students. However, one current teacher says she doesn't agree. Shanza Veal said, "I haven ...

Inspired by a little-known Turkish Imam, the Gulen movement has more than a thousand schools in more than a hundred countries as well as thinktanks, newspapers, TV and radio stations, a university - and even a bank. The movement's critics claim it's determined to create a new Muslim empire. It's supporters say it's just the expression of a modern, business-friendly Islam committed to human rights and democracy. This documentary travels to Turkey to find out about the man who inspired what has become a global phenomenon - Fetullah Gulen. There they meets supporters and critics of the movement. They also talks to some of its most committed ambassadors - who are running its schools in Central Asia. Turkey's Gulen movement, which promotes service to the common good, may have grown into the world's biggest Muslim network.
