Career technology education prepares students to enter the workforce immediately after graduation or to pursue further education at a community college or university. High school juniors and seniors learn the skills and knowledge necessary to work in a criminal justice-related field. Topics include search and seizure, corrections, courts, community policing, and use of appropriate force. Students work closely with local police department Explorer programs and participate in the SkillsUSA leadership competitions. The program also provides an introduction to the world of crime scene investigation and students participate in an annual forensics competition.
