?Berg/Seeger Classic 2012 – Welcome to the A...

The 5th Berg/Seeger Track & Field Classic is set to take place at the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind in Tucson on 20-21 April 2012. This is a special event as this will occur during ASDB's 100th anniversary of ASDB's establishment. Please note that there will be prelims and a few field events going on Friday evening starting at 6PM. This classic is open to all Deaf HS athletes, including schools for the Deaf and mainstream schools in the United States. HS athletes means 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. Participation is not allowed for 6th, 7th, 8th graders, and fifth year senior. The purpose for this classic is to promote interest in track and field among Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing high school athletes. And some classrooms are equipped with things like a Smart Board, a kind of interactive whiteboard. Interactive whiteboards are large displays for presentations. They connect to a computer and can operate by touch. They can be used for documents or writing or to project video. Some teachers are trying creative new ways to teach with devices like iPods and mobile phones. But educators say the most important thing, as always, is the content. Yet technology can have special importance in some cases. Cosmobot is a therapy robot. It stands about half a meter tall and has a blue body and a friendly face with big eyes. One child who works with it is six-year-old Kevin Fitzgerald. Kevin has developmental dyspraxia; he has difficulty moving his mouth and tongue.
