www.empire.edu The Avondale, AZ location of Empire Beauty School recently honored their students' moms and the other people who inspire them to follow their dreams. Come take a look at what happened at the Celebrating Mom Open House. The school had their students invite their moms or other inspiring people to an open house event. Each mom was presented with a nice flower from their student. After indulging in some snacks like cookies and a delicious cake, moms could hop into their sons' and daughters' salon chairs and get some special treatment. Advanced students got to try out their cutting, coloring, and styling techniques on their moms. Moms could also receive manicures, pedicures, and other services. Students who haven't reached the point of working on real clients got to show off the techniques they've learned on their mannequin heads. Their moms were very impressed by how far their sons and daughters had come in such a short amount of time. At the end of the day, Empire presented a giant check from a fundraiser they had. The money the students and moms had raised went to a local Arizona charity called Chrysalis, whose mission is to lead our community to broad-based solutions to prevent domestic abuse. The Celebrating Mom Open House was a huge success. Moms got treated to a special day while students got to show off all their hard work.
