On January 12, 2011, I flew my Robinson R44 helicopter from Deer Valley Airport in north Phoenix, AZ to Page Municipal Airport on the shores of Lake Powell. This video compresses that 2-hour flight into 8 minutes. As you watch this video, remember that it was all shot on one day during a 2-hour period. I traveled from the Sonoran desert of Phoenix up to the snow-covered alpine forests near Flagstaff and then through the western side of the massive Navajo Indian reservation all the way to Page, AZ. The total distance covered was roughly 200 NM and it was pretty much a straight line trip. All video shot with an onboard GoPro Hero HD camera, hard mounted in position for the flight.

The Nevada and Arizona border crosses at the Hover dam. I jumped back and forth across the border. It's weird because the dam crosses the border between two time zones, the Pacific Time Zone in Nevada and the Mountain Time Zone in Arizona. I had serious jet lag after doing this stunt.

This is the story of teachers as heroes during a tough time to be a teacher. In 2007, one teacher at Mitchell School in Phoenix, AZ set out to change her school. Little did she know she was starting a movement that would inspire others and change schools in Arizona and around the country. Along the way, the teachers at Mitchell have encountered no shortage of drama in and out of the school. The Mitchell 20 is a story of teachers and schools everywhere.

In Sedona at the east end of Uptown is the entrance to Oak Creek Canyon. As you travel through the canyon, highway 89A meanders alongside Oak Creek below the towering formations. You'll encounter several lodges, fishing holes, picnic areas, great hiking trails and campgrounds. Further up Oak Creek Canyon is Slide Rock State Park. The natural water slides and pools carved into the red rocks provide a perfect setting for family fun. Plan to arrive at the park early because many days it fills to capacity. Eventually the highway winds its way up the switchbacks to a scenic overlook, through a Ponderosa Pine forest and into Flagstaff for a total journey of about 25 miles from the "Y".
