Pioneer Day, also called Ééhaniih Day (Rememberance Day), was held the weekend of August 1, 2008, at the base of Navajo Mountain (Naatsis'áán), on the Arizona side. This celebration is meant to commemorate the Navajos who lived in the Navajo Mountain area and did not go on the Long Walk. It is held in the fashion of the old-style Navajo fairs, with foot races, horse races, etc. You won't find ferris wheels or roller coasters at this event... or maybe not yet. omg i was there this year i always go every year its so awsome i love it i get to see all of my friends n yah n ex boy friends family runs the whole thing the atene fam well yah i just hung out with him this year it was kick but lol yah we were the ones with the big A** trailer cnt wait till nxt year pce
